11.15 Innovation and partnerships in improving services in mountain areas

1. The development of the Ice Factor in Kinlochleven ( http://www.icefactor.co.uk )
A new indoor climbing facility in this small village utilising
a redundant factory building associated with the Aluminium
industry. The regeneration of this village has been heavily supported

2. The restructuring of volunteer fire and rescue services in the
Highlands. New software supplied by the UK government allows data
input from census returns and actual fire and rescue activities. It
uses this data to predict future levels of activity and allows the

3. ICT. Delivery of ICT Services to Highland Council by Fujitsu UK. In
